What We Do at Equal Justice Solutions
We Serve Clients in Delaware with Consequence. Not Complaints.
At Equal Justice Solutions, we concentrate on cases that are significant in every way ethically, financially, and spiritually. We represent clients in Delaware whose cases present real harm, considerable stakes, and real possibilities for justice or meaningful reform.
We defend truth-tellers in dangerous places. From SEC, IRS, healthcare, and False Claims Act whistleblowers to employees fired for speaking up against misconduct, we fight with federal reach and moral clarity.
We represent the voiceless—the trafficked, the sexually abused, the neglected—especially when the cover-up is worse than the harm. These are more than legal cases. They’re sacred ones.
We fight for investors, pension holders, and ordinary people who’ve been deceived, defrauded, or financially wiped out by brokers, funds, and so-called fiduciaries.
Commercial Litigation
We represent founders, investors, and leadership teams in bet-the-company disputes—securities litigation, company breakdowns, internal misconduct, and commercial fraud.
Business Litigation Attorneys
At Equal Justice Solutions, we don’t play fair in the ring, surprise you with bloated invoices, or make junior lawyers learn on your dime. We don’t defend corporate fraudsters—and we certainly don’t defend shady billing practices.
At Equal Justice Solutions, we serve professionals, workers, and whistleblowers who’ve been silenced, sidelined, or terminated for doing the right thing. We aren’t a volume shop. We’re not here for drama or delay.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is commercial litigation?
Commercial litigation exists to achieve a singular outcome: a court ruling. This ruling compels the opposing party to fulfill an obligation, stop a harmful action, or settle debts. When compliance is refused, the matter returns to court to activate state power, which may include asset seizures, fines, garnishments, or contempt sanctions. Litigation’s primary function is to secure an enforceable ruling and the tools needed to enforce it.
Who does a commercial litigation lawyer represent?
Commercial litigation lawyers represent clients who are involved in business conflicts and need a legal solution. This often involves corporations, business owners, partners, or individuals in commercial dealings seeking court intervention to settle disputes, enforce agreements, prevent wrongdoing, or recover financial losses. We center our efforts on evidence, legal principles, and the practical resolution that a court judgment can provide.
Who does a commerical litigation lawyer NOT represent?
At Equal Justice Solutions, our commercial litigation team does not represent clients in Delaware who aim to use the legal process for reasons beyond legal resolution.
- It is not personal validation.
- It’s not an ego battle.
- It’s not to ‘stick it to’ a former partner.
Our focus is on getting you what the law entitles you to, whether it’s money, shares, ownership, or another rightful entitlement. Simply put, nothing more, nothing less.
Is a commercial litigation lawyer right for me?
It all depends on your goals and what you expect from the legal system. If you are thinking about pursuing commercial litigation, it’s essential to have a clear understanding of what litigation can achieve. A lawsuit resolves legal rights and obligations but does not fix personal emotions or bring about grand ideas of justice. When expectations exceed what the legal process can provide, disappointment is inevitable. In our experience, the business disputes that last the longest are often fueled by ego-driven decisions.
A commercial litigation lawyer is right for you when you’re looking for a legal solution that is based on realistic outcomes. It’s essential to recognize the limits of the process and be ready to make decisions grounded in reason, not personal feelings.
When you’re prepared to handle the legal process with a clear mindset and manage your expectations, a commercial litigation lawyer can offer the right guidance and support for resolving your case effectively.
When is commercial litigation worth it?
Claims under $100,000: These claims are rarely worth pursuing unless they involve a clear and simple breach of contract with a solvent defendant who has no credible defenses. Spending $100,000 to recover the same amount often leads to a break-even outcome, not accounting for the added stress, delay, and unpredictability. While our Small Business Program can help bridge the gap, most disputes under this amount are best treated as a loss.
Claims over $1,000,000: Claims of this size are almost always worth pursuing. Even if litigation costs range from $400,000 to $500,000 over two years, the return on investment is generally strong, and these cases often help protect the business or set important precedents within the industry.
Claims Between $100,000 and $1,000,000: This is the gray zone as the range represents a more uncertain decision. The outcome depends on factors like the complexity of the case, the strength of defenses, the likelihood that the opponent can satisfy a judgment, the chances of winning, and the business’s willingness to take on the risk.
How much does a commercial litigation lawyer cost?
At Equal Justice Solutions, our standard rate is $695 per hour, which is relatively modest compared to leading firms, particularly in areas like New York and Delaware, where hourly rates can range from $1,200 to $1,500. Even Delaware courts have ruled that $900 per hour is reasonable for commercial litigation attorneys dealing with major commercial disputes.
Commercial litigation is a complex and labor-intensive process. Here’s an approximate breakdown of how the hours typically unfold:
100 to 200 hours to get past the pleadings (motion to dismiss, etc.)
100 to 200 hours for document discovery
200+ hours for depositions
200 to 400 hours for trial prep
400+ hours for the trial itself
This adds up to around 1,000 hours of work. Cases that involve business torts or other claims with substantial factual details tend to require more time, often reaching the upper end of this range. If the case demands the involvement of several attorneys, the total number of hours increases as well.
How long will my case take with law firms that handle disputes of this kind?
The length of time for your case depends on a variety of factors, such as the complexity of the case, the number of witnesses, the extent of document discovery, and the court’s availability. Business litigation or securities cases generally take longer because they require extensive review and meticulous discovery. If the matter goes to trial, our expert trial attorneys will navigate the case through state and federal courts until a final decision is rendered. This can sometimes span several years.
Why will your law firm not take a commercial case on pure contingency in federal courts?
At Equal Justice Solutions, we do not accept commercial cases on pure contingency because it creates an unsound and risky structure for both the client and the lawyer. Commercial litigation is unpredictable, highly detailed, and depends on the availability of evidence, witnesses, discovery, and the actions of the parties over long periods of time. When we cover all costs such as staff, time, filings, and expert fees without any input from the client, we assume a financial burden that responsible litigators should not take. If the defendant cannot pay, appeals come up, or the defendant disappears, the financial loss falls solely on us.
Our duty is to pursue justice with integrity, and that requires a fee structure that supports consistent, responsible work, not one that places the entire financial risk of the case on our firm alone.
