Ryan P. Cox is a litigation-tested attorney with broad experience in commercial disputes, Delaware corporate law, intellectual property litigation, and whistleblower claims. He represents clients in Delaware Chancery Court and federal courts nationwide, focusing on high-stakes business disputes, False Claims Act matters, and intellectual property enforcement and defense.

Before joining Equal Justice Solutions, Ryan practiced at large national law firms such as Squire Patton Boggs and Reed Smith, where he counseled clients in biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, and medical device patent matters. He has managed international patent portfolios, drafted and prosecuted complex patent applications, and supported high-stakes IP litigation in the District of Delaware.

In addition to intellectual property, Ryan has significant experience in commercial litigation involving breach of contract, fiduciary duties, and corporate disputes. His Delaware practice includes representing clients in Chancery Court litigation and advising on business governance issues.

As part of his growing whistleblower and False Claims Act practice, Ryan works with individuals exposing corporate fraud, healthcare violations, and government contract misconduct. He helps clients pursue claims while protecting them against retaliation.

  • Evonik Degussa GmbH v. Materia Inc. (D. Del.) – Served on the trial team where Evonik’s patents were upheld and Materia was found liable for infringement in the District of Delaware.
  • Next-Generation Sequencing Patent Protection – Secured patent protection for a biotechnology company whose innovations led to acquisition by a multi-billion-dollar life sciences corporation.
  • Life Sciences & Biotechnology Patents – Provided opinions and prosecution services for multi-million and multi-billion dollar products in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors.
