Equal Justice Solutions: Pro Bono and Small Business Legal Support Programs

At Equal Justice Solutions, we believe the practice of law can—and should—be a way of spreading God’s love through justice, mercy, and service. Guided by an ecumenical Christian mission, we dedicate a portion of our work to those who might otherwise be left without a voice in the legal system.

Two programs reflect this commitment:

The Pro Bono Legal Program

The Small Business Legal Support Program

Both exist because we believe law is not just about winning cases; it is about acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

The Small Business Legal Support Program

Many small and mission-driven businesses operate with integrity yet find themselves in costly disputes they can’t afford to litigate. We believe they, too, deserve skilled representation when facing:

Through this program, we offer:

  • Sliding scale fees – Hourly rates reduced by up to 50% based on need.
  • Mission alignment review – Ensuring the case reflects values of justice, fairness, and responsibility.
  • Affordable engagement options – From early case assessments to limited-scope representation and discounted litigation packages.

When disputes threaten the livelihood of good people running principled businesses, this program exists so they can access justice without fear of financial ruin.

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”Psalm 82:3

The Pro Bono Legal Program

Our Pro Bono Program reflects the biblical call to “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves” (Proverbs 31:8). We reserve a portion of our caseload for individuals facing injustice in matters involving:

These cases often pit ordinary people against powerful institutions. For those with meritorious claims but no ability to pay, we step in to ensure they have an advocate who will pursue truth and fairness with skill and compassion.

Why We Offer These Programs

We see law as a vocation—a way to live out the commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31). That means:

  • Helping businesses act with integrity while surviving legal storms.
  • Standing with individuals confronting discrimination, retaliation, or civil rights violations.
  • Offering transparency and fairness in fees so cost never keeps someone from justice.

These programs reflect our belief that access to justice should not depend on wealth, power, or connections.

Who We Don’t Represent

To stay true to our mission, we do not represent:

  • Companies suing non-executive employees for minor claims
  • Entities credibly accused of fraud, abuse, or harassment
  • Cases primarily intended to intimidate or retaliate
  • Insurance defense or personal injury defense matters outside commercial coverage disputes

We are called to use our legal skills to protect the vulnerable, pursue justice, and promote reconciliation, not to aid in oppression or retaliation.

How to Apply

  • Small Business Litigation Clients: Submit the Small Business Program Application if you have a business dispute—such as a contract claim, shareholder conflict, or other commercial litigation matter—and need reduced fees.
  • Pro Bono Applicants: Submit the Pro Bono Program Application if you have a civil rights, whistleblower, or serious misconduct case and cannot afford legal representation.

We review each application promptly and will contact you regarding eligibility and next steps.
