Pro Bono Program
A Ministry of Justice in the Name of Jesus Christ
Our Pro Bono Program is a central part of our mission at Equal Justice Solutions — not an afterthought, but a work of mercy and obedience to the Gospel.
We don’t offer free legal help because it’s good marketing. We do it because Jesus commands us to love the poor, defend the voiceless, and confront unjust systems with courage and truth.
“They sell the innocent for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals… they trample on the heads of the poor into the dust of the earth.” — Amos 2:6–7
We believe justice is a spiritual act, and that law can become a vessel for love — especially when extended to those the world overlooks.
What the Program Offers
Our Pro Bono Program provides legal services to qualifying individuals in areas aligned with our public interest mission — particularly:
- Civil rights violations
- Unjust eviction or housing abuse
- Predatory lending or financial exploitation
- Whistleblower retaliation or suppression
- Structural or institutional injustice
We evaluate each case based on both legal merit and moral seriousness — not just outcomes, but impact.
Why Choose Equal Justice Solutions?
We’re a faith-driven public benefit law firm, not a volume shop. Every case we take is intentional, and our class action attorneys are focused on high-quality legal advocacy, not churning cases.
We Represent Clients In:
Civil Rights & Institutional Abuse
Discrimination, retaliation, police misconduct, and civil liberties violations.
Housing Justice
Especially evictions or notices to quit issued without legal justification — such as when rent is current and no legal charge has been filed.
Predatory Lending & Consumer Exploitation
Especially evictions or notices to quit issued without legal justification — such as when rent is current and no legal charge has been filed.
Whistleblower and Investor Advocacy
We stand with those who speak the truth about fraud and corruption — whether under the IRS, SEC, or False Claims Act.
Mass Harm & Class Actions
Especially where public policy or structural injustice is involved.
What We Don’t Do
We are not a general legal aid firm, and we rarely accept family law cases (divorce, custody, etc.) unless tied to a broader civil rights or systemic injustice issue.
If we cannot take your case, we’ll do our best to connect you to resources that can.
How It Works
We use a means-tested sliding scale model grounded in Catholic social teaching and practical stewardship.
You apply confidentially
disclosing income, expenses, and a brief case summary.
We assess
the strength of the legal claim and its alignment with our mission.
we may:
If your case qualifies, we may:
- Represent you pro bono (completely free),
- Offer low bono services (reduced-rate), or
- Handle the case on contingency (you pay nothing unless we win).
Our ability to take pro bono cases is supported by our ethical commercial litigation practice — which allows us to keep our case load low and our standards high, especially for those with no other access to justice.
While individuals in commercial disputes can qualify for the low bono program, the application is more similar to the small business program described here:
Our Values in Action
As Scripture commands:
“Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” — Amos 5:24
Our work is animated by love, not partisanship. We do not take every case. But when we do, it’s because:
- The legal claim is strong
- The potential harm is serious
- The client seeks truth, not vengeance
- The matter aligns with our faith-based mission
✅ We are not neutral — we stand for:
- The vulnerable
- The whistleblower
- The company striving to do right
- The truth
❌ We stand against:
- Exploitation
- Injustice
- Institutions that abuse power
- Lawyers who forget their duty to serve
Who Is Eligible
To be eligible for our Pro Bono Program, a client must typically:
Show financial need (based on income, debt, and assets)
Present a case with clear legal merit and moral urgency
Be unable to afford quality representation elsewhere
We rarely take family law or criminal defense matters unless they involve broader civil rights or systemic injustice.
We Are a Lay Apostolate
Equal Justice Solutions is a Christian legal apostolate — a lay-led mission rooted in Catholic social teaching, but ecumenical in practice. We strive to witness to Christ in every courtroom, contract, and client interaction.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor… to set the oppressed free.” — Luke 4:18
When we offer legal aid to the vulnerable, we are not “doing charity.” We are answering a call — the same call Christ gave to every disciple.
Catastrophic Personal Injury Lawyers
In plain terms:
if we don’t secure more for you, your total cost is just $1,899.* If you’re a U.S. military member, honorably discharged veteran, or first responder (police, fire, EMS), we reduce the rate to $999.
No hidden fees. No surprise charges.
If these fees are a challenge, ask about our pro bono and sliding scale program. In line with our faith-based mission and Catholic social teachings, we strive to ensure that financial hardship is never a barrier to high-quality legal representation. Just fill out the short application, and if you qualify, we’ll offer a discount based on your income, or in serious situations, waive the fee entirely. Here’s what’s included for this review:

We will treat your submission with dignity and care. If we can’t take your case, we’ll do our best to connect you to other resources.
Need to Talk First?
Real Talk: Is This the Right Move?
Don’t blow the whistle because you’re angry.
Blow it because you can’t live with the lie.
If you’ve already spoken up and they came for you—you’re exactly why we exist.
In addition to our multi-lawyer team, we proudly partner with the nationwide law firm Wade Kilpela
Slade to ensure False Claims Act cases are staffed with the depth they demand. Typically, FCA matters
are supported by a team of three to four attorneys, combining trial-readiness, federal expertise, and
mission alignment.
